About the Center
It is the mission of the Hampton Roads Center for Fibroid Embolization to be the premier provider of Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) in Eastern
Virginia, committed to excellence in the delivery of this treatment, and the satisfaction of its' patients and referring physicians.
UFE at the Center
The Center was founded in January, 2000 to promote the development of UFE in Hampton Roads, VA by concentrating expertise and resources. Dr. Cockerill
performed the first UFE in Hampton Roads in July of 1998. Since then many other women have been successfully
treated. In July 2008 we celebrated our 10 year anniversary of UFE. Read more about it.
At the Center we are committed to providing superior quality, personalized care for each and every patient we see. We will partner with you,
and your gynecologist, to determine the best means of treating your problematic fibroids. For those who choose UFE we will walk you through
Step Process. Not all patients will be appropriate candidates for UFE and will be directed toward other therapies.
The Initial Consultation will occur at one of our three offices:
- The main office is in Norfolk in the DePaul Medical Building, 110 Kingsley Lane, Suite 305. This is the freestanding building beside the Hospital. Visitor parking is available in the first lot on the left. Directions/Map.
- The Virginia Beach office is in the Radiology Department at Virginia Beach General Hospital. Enter the
Patient Entrance and report directly to the Breast Center where you will check in and register. You do not need to stop at Patient Registration
as you enter. Directions/Map.

office is in the Radiology Department at Mary Immaculate Hospital. Report directly to the Radiology Department. Directions/Map.
If you are coming from outside the Hampton Roads area the Initial Consultation can usually be handled by phone. Our staff can help you with
