About the Center Mission
It is the mission of the Hampton Roads Center for Fibroid Embolization to be the premier provider of Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) in Eastern
Virginia, committed to excellence in the delivery of this treatment, and the satisfaction of its' patients and referring physicians.
History of
UFE at the Center
The Center was founded in January, 2000 to promote the development of UFE in Hampton Roads, VA by concentrating expertise and resources. Dr. Cockerill
performed the first UFE in Hampton Roads in July of 1998. Since then many other women have been successfully
treated.
Commitment
At the Center we are committed to providing superior quality, personalized care for each and every patient we see. We will partner with you,
and your gynecologist, to determine the best means of treating your problematic fibroids. For those who choose UFE we will walk you through
our Five
Step Process. Not all patients will be appropriate candidates for UFE and will be directed toward other therapies.
