Our Process: Step 1 - Initial Consultation

The purpose of the initial consultation is to determine if you are an appropriate candidate for UFE and to answer any questions you have about the procedure.

The following information from your gynecologist is needed for review and should be faxed or mailed to the Center prior to the consultation:

  • Thorough history and physical exam by your gynecologist.
  • Results of any imaging studies including pelvic ultrasound, hysterosonogram, and MRI.
  • Reports of any gynecologic surgeries including myomectomy, hysteroscopy, D&C, endometrial biopsy, and laparoscopy.
  • Results of blood tests and Pap Smear.

Following the consultation, if you are felt to be an appropriate candidate for UFE, and you decide to pursue this treatment, the next step is Step 2: Pre-Procedure Testing.
